As such, Violet Evergarden is an anime that hit me right in the feels, and this from episode one. I am not the type of person to cry easily at anything really, as I still think that I do not feel emotions as much as I should. But this time around oh boy did it break me from top to bottom.
The movie really did a fantastic job at calling back at the anime and visiting some of the characters we had previously met, past and future. Helped violet live a life outside of war, employed her as a doll for his company and one of the few characters who knows violet's past. He faded to a comic relief at the end. And Evergarden family, despite giving the show half of the title, had basically no meaning in the entire story nor much screen time.

It is the quest of our main character to understand feelings, the ones of the Major of course, but also of her own and the people around her. This happens in a very specific context.
